Woodgate Community Shop
Pease Pottage may one day have its very own village shop! Premises for the shop, part of the Woodgate Hub community centre, are being leased from St Catherine’s Hospice, which has been given the building by Thakeham Homes, the builders of the Woodgate estate.
The intention is to employ a manager and perhaps some staff, with much of the day-to-day work to be undertaken by local volunteers.
The shop won’t open until an appropriate level of funding has been acquired: £50,000 is the goal. A management committee has been established to raise these funds, one source of which is intended to be local people. Shares are available for purchase, from a minimum amount of £10 to a maximum of £5,000.
