Veteran Car Run

On the first Sunday in November, the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run passes through Pease Pottage. The village was mentioned in the Kenneth More film, Genevieve, which was set during the veteran car run.


The route follows the A23 up Pease Pottage hill, then crosses the motorway bridge into the village, and continues along Brighton Road past the motorway service station and Bridges’ breakers yard towards Handcross. See our Location page for an interactive map.

Viewpoints and Parking

The majority of the cars can be seen between 9.30 a.m. and mid-day.

Parking is not allowed on the road for the duration of the Veteran Car Run.

The grass verges along some parts of Brighton Road are usable in dry weather, but you’ll need to get there early to grab a spot. Those who don’t live within walking distance could also try:
